No Alert for some IMs?

I noticed this with the upgrade to the new version of BJ... but I don't always get an alert with a new IM is received. It seems to happen when the alert comes in, but the screen hasn't gone black & I've not left the chat screen. Hopefully that makes sense. I don't think the old version did this.

I'll often reply, put my BB down and then wonder why it's taking so long for a reply... and so I'll look and realize that the reply came in, but there was no alert. If I reply, return to the home screen, and then put the the phone down... I'll get an alert.

How can I make it so every incoming IM has the alert?

I'm having the same issue. I've noticed if I'm in a chat I don't get any alert but if I go to the Home Screen or to the buddy list and get a new IM from someone I get the notification.

I think its kinda "working as intended", because it is more annoying getting, for example, sound notifications while chatting. Maybe a "idle timer" for chat screens, which re-enables notifications after a period of time even in chat window would solve the problem (@Jim).

I've no doubt that some people like how it works, but it's just plain bad to me and the others who've replied. If I got a notice for every message after the screen goes blank, that'd work. I'm simply not the sort to stare at my BB 100% of the time while chatting. I put it down.. and, as a result, BeeJive isn't doing such a good job letting me know another message has arrived.

I'm pretty sure the 1.0 version I bought didn't do this... and I'm sort of irked that now that I've paid for it, I can't get it to work "right" for me.

Just adding to the thread for hope for a fix. I have noticed the same thing and did a search for this issue. I'm positive this is just an issue on the new 2.x version and not version 1. When you leave your chat and go back to your home screen or to the BeeJive list of your IM accounts, the notifications work fine, but when you are in the actual chat you have to keep looking at the screen for your replies since the sound/vibrate notifications don't work there.

I am experiencing the same issues since I have upgraded to 2.0.2 - 2.0.1 and prior did not do that. I canot be holding my BB all day watching the screen for an IM to come in.

Additionally, I am experiencing behavior that I had in 1x versions where I will send an IM maybe several, and the intended recipient never gets them - they are wondering why I have taken so long to respond, as am I because I sent 3 messages (or actually just carrying on a conversation with myself). This did not happen with 2.0.1 - I LOVED that version.....though it had that quirky problem with not displaying Buddy Names at the top of the chat correctly.

PLEASE can I get 2.0.1 back????

JIM!!! HELP US that we need to fix this alert problem for IMS chat...we cannot afford our time to check the chats if anyone comes in to talk and someone types next I do not have time to stare my BB every minute--I want the VIBRATATION back on every chat comes in (someone types back forth) ...PLEASE help us !

The only way to avoid this problem is to hit "end" after sending a message, hardly a solution more like an inconvenience. I too hope this gets fixed too.

Also, can we please have an option to remove the "conversations" group? I usually only have one chat open and this group just takes up space. I also have only 5-10 buddies online at a time so clicking back on their name to resume the chat is NOT an inconvenience.
