BeejiveIM 2.0 Release Candidate 2

We are happy to announce the release of BeejiveIM for BlackBerry 2.0 RC 2. If you'd like to test this version, please use the links at the bottom of this post.

Bug fixes in this release:
- Fix for the ControlledAccessException that would happen on some 5.0 OSs.
- Temporary fix for the App Error 523 that would occur on the Storm 2.
- Fixed bug with adding / changing buddy's group.
- Added the ability to specify any email address for push notifications.
- For OS 4.6 & above you no longer need an SD Card to do file transfers.
- Fixed the file browser so file names are no longer cut off.
- Fixed the File Error 1001 issue when trying to send / receive files.
- Fixed exception that occasionally occurred when "End All Chats" was selected.
- Updated alerts, pop-up dialogs, and notifications code.
- Fixed problem with preferences screen on the Pearl Flip.
- Fixed trackwheel issue on older BB models.
- Removed wallpapers for 4.5 OS & below to reduce install size on older models.
- Added linking of Twitter usernames in chat messages.
- Merged the VGA and non-VGA 4.6 OS builds.
- Added non-VGA screen support to the 5.0 OS builds.


New features from current production version:
- support for 5.0 OS
- file transfers via link, you can now transfer files to buddies on all IM accounts.
- email push when app running in background (see preferences in app).
- send voice notes
- send GPS location (if supported by phone)
- new chat styles & background images
- new buddy list layouts
- improved battery life
- overall UI redesign
- facebook IM
- various other bug fixes & enhancements
This beta is not supported on devices with OS's below 4.2.1.

This is beta software and not a production release. Bugs and defects are to be expected, please report any defects in this forum including your OS, BB model, and carrier.

- Fully delete your current installation of BeejiveIM (including any modules).
- Restart your BlackBerry

Hi Beejive team.
Better if chat wall paper resolution fit the Blackberry Screen ( eg:320x240 for Blackberry 83xx, 88xx, 87xx...). If the resolution of the image is 320x240, it only about 3kb~5kb.

MSN bug in push email mode, still here...

If a user goes online AFTER you set beejive in push email mode (and wait the idle time you have set) and he write you, when you open beejive you'll see that user offline but he's online.

Excellent release ! I found this issues :
1) i can't receive a files xls, doc, ppt show a follow message : "Sorry, unable to save file" .

2) if a contact are using WLM from blackberry and send me a file when i accepted the transfer failed.

It's wonderful for having the RC2 version of BeejiveIM and fix menu for OS4.5 operating system and especially the attention of the 8700g I had to BeejiveIM OS 4.5, but one thing that I do not get satisfaction in this version is that you have cut off loss Wallpaper (background) of the text chat. We've always monitor this topic and always responded as RC1 version has integrated Wallpaper, now without it we feel the loss of any part, so you have the volume Left Wallpaper for the next version on OS4. 5 for 8700 not? if possible let the wallpaper size is 320 x 240 is great.
* A bug in the text chat frame it slightly slower than RC1 version, it is forever new text appears.

Thanks for taking my suggestion and making it a reality (showing change log between betas) I have been using this for most of the day with no real issues to report. Will continue to test throughout the weekend

Nope, using WiFi still results in Error 523 (Storm2 - Vodafone).
