Storm beta v1.9.5

Postby jim » Tue Jun 30, 2009 12:42 pm

New beta is out!

What's new:
- file transfers via link, you can now transfer files to buddies on all IM accounts.
- updated push when idle settings, you can now choose an email to use for push notifications.
- clock fixed
- option to use color blind status icons
- various other bug fixes & enhancements

We're still working on the other defects reported. If you find anything else not already reported, please post them on this forum.

This is beta software and not a production release. Bugs and defects are to be expected! This beta is for the BlackBerry Storm 9500, 9530+ series only, all other models should NOT use this version. Thank you for your help!

Please uninstall your old version, restart the phone, and use the link below to install the latest beta. Also please update your Storm OS to the latest version.

Thanks for all the work on this!!

I felt both the 1.9.4 and 1.9.5 clients are a bit "chatty". I installed 9.4 then un-installed and put 9.5 on.

I'm using an unlocked storm on AT&T and am having some problems with it constantly rotating through
the available networks Since I'm limited to the Edge network or 2G network, it's hard to get a guage
on how the client will do in a better environment which I go home from my business trip.

Thus far no major issues with the client. I'm running .148 - is there a recommended BB OS to run?

Thanks!!

Hi! I'm not a storm user, but when will the other blackberries (like me on my Bold, or 8900) get some of this beta action? Thanks :)

Am I missing settings for notifications? How about the ability to not have IM's show up in my regular email inbox?

Yep, all other Blackberry models (OS 4.2.1 & up) will be getting an update soon. All new features in the Storm app will be included, if the phone hardware supports them.

Just upgraded. When I try to start the app, I get:

Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerEXception

I'm getting a rolling error log, my sametime server says I'm logged in but I can't IM or be IM'd from anyone.

Here's the errors:
21:48:00.753 (error) null, exception=java io.EOFException, null
IO ERROR, FAILURES=1
SOCKET CLOSED
Then it resets itself and continually mounts errors to the log and is a bad battery drain

I've no issue with purchasing this right off the bat
