JiveTalk™ for BlackBerry® 1.0.1 Preview Build for 8100, 8300, 8800 Series

Thank you for your interest in trying JiveTalk for BlackBerry® 1.0.1 preview build. This is a public preview of the file transfer capability in JiveTalk for 4.2 OS devices only. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE PRODUCTION BUILD, CLICK ON THE DOWNLOAD LINK ABOVE.

In order to use this build and the file transfer feature, you must have a 8100 Pearl, 8300 Curve, or 8800 seres BlackBerry device. All earlier BlackBerry models, including 8700 series models running 4.2 OS, do not have the expanded memory (MicroSD) capabilities required for this function.

The production 1.0.1 version for 4.0 and 4.1 OS builds, when available, will not support the file transfer feature due to the above mentioned limitations.

Before proceeding, please first read the readme file for this build.


BlackBerry® OTA (Over The Air) Install
The easiest way to install JiveTalk is from your BlackBerry® handheld. Point your BlackBerry® web browser to:

Desktop Install
To install via your desktop, please read through the following instructions carefully.

1. Verify that you meet the sytem requirments

• OS version 4.2 or later
• BlackBerry device from one of the following model series:
8100 Series, 8300 Series, 8800 Series
• 500 kb of free memory. (To find your free memory go to Options > Status on your device)
• A MicroSD card installed on the device
• BlackBerry Data Service, with access to either BES, BIS, or your carrier's TCP gateway.
For the best results when transferring files, it is recommended that you set the Transport option for JiveTalk (under Preferences) to TCP.
2. Select your device based on BlackBerry model number and OS version.

To find your BlackBerry model number and OS version, go to Options > About on your handheld. You should see something similar to the following: BlackBerry 8800 Wireless Handheld v 4.2.1.72. In this example, 8800 is the model number and 4.2.1.72 is the BlackBerry OS version.
3. Read and agree to the terms of the JiveTalk License Agreement.
