Set Availability Status
You can customize your availability status with any of your logged in IM accounts, either all
together with the same status or individually with different availability statuses per account.
Set Status for All Accounts
To set your availability status for all logged in accounts, scroll to the Accounts bar (top row)
in the buddy list and select "Set Status..." from the menu.
From the status screen, select the desired status or select a "Custom Message..." status to enter
custom message associated with the status. After setting a custom message, you will have the choice
to save the message in list of available statuses so you don't have to enter it again in the future.
If you have set a status for all accounts. Any future logins for the current session will automatically
be set to the selected status.
* AIM only supports "Available" and "Away" status. Selecting "Busy" on AIM will simply act as if you selected
"Away".
* Yahoo! only supports custom status messages for "Available" or "Busy". Setting a custom message for "Away"
on a Yahoo! account will behave as "Busy".
* "Invisible" is not supported on GoogleTalk, Jabber, or MySpace.
* MySpace only supports "Available" or "Away".
Set Status for Single Account
To set your availability status for a single account, scroll to the account on the buddy list and
select "Set Status...".

Login Status
By default, all IM accounts in JiveTalk will login as "Available" unless you have the "Login Invisible"
box checked for the account, in which case it will log in as "Invisible".
You can also configure to JiveTalk to remember the last online status for an account, and automatically set
the availability status to the last status the next time you log into the account. To enable this setting,
check the "Login with Last Status" setting in Preferences.

Invisibility Support
JiveTalk supports invisibility for AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo. For accounts on those IM networks, you can
set the status to invisible (see the
accounts section for
setting up an account to login as invisible). When your status is invisible, you will appear as offline to
everyone else. While invisible, you can still send instant messages to others.

Privacy Control on AIM/ICQ
JiveTalk supports manual configuration of AIM/ICQ privacy control. You can configure your JiveTalk enabled
AIM or ICQ account to use "Allow all", "Allow buddies only", "Allow allow-list only", "Block block-list only", or
"Block all".
To set the privacy control mode for AIM/ICQ, you must be logged into that account. Scroll to the account on the buddy list (expand
the Accounts bar), select "Edit Account" from the menu. The "Privacy Setting" selection field is located at the bottom of the screen.
* JiveTalk does not yet support adding or removing buddies from your allow list. If you set your privacy control to
"Allow allow-list only", it will use your allow-list as stored on the AIM servers (e.g. configured via your desktop AIM client)

Blocking a Buddy
JiveTalk supports blocking for AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and MySpace. For accounts on those IM networks, you can choose to
block any buddy and appear as offline to that person only. While blocked (except for Yahoo!), all instant messages
from the blocked buddy will also be silently dropped.
* For AIM/ICQ, you must have your privacy control mode set
to "Block block-list only" in order to block a buddy.
See the
blocking subsection under Buddies for instructions on how to block
and unblock a buddy.
