Add an Account
To add a public IM network account to JiveTalk, highlight the Accounts bar (top row) on the buddy list
and select "Add Account" from the menu. (If you are using the application for the first time or do not have
any accounts configured, You will be taken directly to the Add Account screen after network and license configuration).
1. Select the network that the account is on, you can select from AIM, GoogleTalk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN and Yahoo!.
2. Enter the username for the account.

For AIM: Enter the screen name. .Mac or extended domain users, enter the full email address, e.g. example@mac.com

For GoogleTalk: enter the gmail account username or the full email address if your GoogleTalk account is on another domain or
if you are using Google Applications.

For ICQ: enter the ICQ number.

For Jabber: enter the full email address. See the host and port section below for instructions on entering custom Jabber server information.

For Windows Live / MSN: enter the full email address, e.g. example@hotmail.com or example@msn.com

For Yahoo!: enter your Yahoo username.

For MySpace: enter your MySpace username.
3. Enter Your Password for the account.
4. Check the "Save Password' box if you want your password to be saved locally on your BlackBerry. Saving the password will
allow you to login without having to enter the password each time. If will also allow you to include the account when you do
a "Login All".
5. Check the "Include in Login All" box if you want this account to be included when you do a "Login All". You password must
be saved in order for the account to be included in Login All.
6. Check the "Login Invisible" box if you want to login in to the IM server as invisible. When you're logged in as invisible,
other users on the network will see you as offline. For more information on invisibility, see the
status and privacy control section.
* Invisbility is not supported for GoogleTalk and Jabber.
7. (Jabber Only) Enter the custom host and port values for the Jabber server. Only use the custom host or port field
if your Jabber server is not on the same host name as your domain, or if it uses a non-standar port (not 5222).
* For Jabber servers that use Legacy SSL, enter 5223 for the port value.
8. After completing the above steps, select "Login" from the menu to log in to this account, or just "Save" if you wish to
save the account but not login at this time.

Edit an Account
To edit an account you have already already configured for JiveTalk, expand the Accounts bar (top row) on the
buddy list, highlight the account to edit, and select "Edit Account" from the menu.
You can change any field on the account. See
add account for details on specific fields
for the account screen. Changes to login settings will be effective the next time you log in to that account.
AIM/ICQ privacy controls settings
After logging in, you can change your AIM/ICQ privacy control settings on this screen. Just select the appropriate
value from the "Privacy setting" selection list. See
AIM/ICQ Privacy Setting section for more information.
MSN display name
After logging in, you can change your MSN display name on this screen. The display name is the name that others on
MSN will see you as.
Select "Save" from the menu to save the changes you have made. To cancel your changes, select "Cancel" from
the menu or simply hit the Escape key.

Delete an Account
To delete an account you have configured for JiveTalk, expand the Accounts bar (top row) on the
buddy list, highlight the account to delete, and select "Delete Account" from the menu.
* In order to delete an account, you must first be logged out from that account.
To delete all accounts, highlight the Accounts bar on the buddy list, and select "Delete All Accounts" from
the menu. You must be completely logged off before you can delete all.
Deleting an account will only remove the account from JiveTalk, it does not in anyway change the account
on the native IM server.

Setting My Buddy Icon
You can set a buddy icon for your MSN & AIM accounts in JiveTalk (support for other services coming soon). To do so follow the steps below:
1. expand the Accounts bar (top row) on the home page.
2. Log into the account you want to set the buddy icon for. Only MSN & AIM accounts are current supported.
3. Highlight the account and hit the menu button.
4. Select "Set My Buddy Icon". Navigate to the buddy icon and select it.
5. Select "Save" from the menu to save the changes you have made. To cancel your changes, select "Cancel" from
the menu or simply hit the Escape key.
